However, there is a grown, little man frequenting both TV screens and silver screens who is absolutely on fire!
If you don’t know who Kevin Hart is by now…shame on you! Allow me to make an introduction:
Currently a producer and star of the fakest reality show ever, BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood, Mr. Hart has had a long track record for comedy. Beginning his career by winning amateur comedy competitions throughout the Northeast, Kevin Hart picked up several supporting roles in major features, which eventually gave him the opportunity to release his own stand up albums. Now, he is at a high point of hilarity.
If you haven’t noticed, Kevin has been everywhere this holiday season! Literally. He’s seen in Walmart commercials for last minute shoppers…
Spotted in a viral video where he demonstrates his flawless ice skating skills…
Plays a boxing promoter in the December 25th release of the film Grudge Match; and was even sitting court side at the Heat vs. Lakers Christmas Day Game. (101-95 Heat, if you must know). Interspersed between the NBA game, were commercials for his other upcoming film Ride Along, which also stars Ice Cube; as well as advertisements for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 where Kevin plays golf with the Heat’s “King James.”
Certainly, this commercial and Kevin’s ubiquitous appearance serves as a prelude to yet another massive project enabled by star power. An announcement was made earlier in December by Deadline Hollywood that Lebron and Kevin will be starring in a film together called Ballers. For Kevin the lyrics of Skee-Lo’s “I Wish” might have been a source of inspiration: “I wish I was a little bit taller. I wish I was a baller,” because he plays the brother of an NBA superstar (James) who gets the chance to prove himself when he and some friends attend a fantasy weekend basketball camp in Miami. Mind you, Kevin is a whooping 5”2’ and James is a dizzying 6”7’. The script will be penned by Hart, Joey Wells, Chris Spencer and Harry Ratchford.
Production is scheduled to begin next summer, so all Miami and South Florida industry folks should be on their toes. In the meantime, we have more Kevin Hart movies, like About That Night, to watch! You know, if you’re into him. More to follow!
